Auditions for THE BODYGUARD

Footlite Musicals is excited to announce open auditions for their production of THE BODYGUARD. Auditions will take place on Sunday, November 20th at 6:30pm and Monday, November 21st at 7pm. With possible callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday, November 23rd.
The auditions will be held at Footlite Musicals in the Hedback Theatre- 1847 N. Alabama St.. Indianapolis, IN 46202. You only need to attend one audition date. We are seeking a cast that is racially, ethnically, and physically diverse as well as inclusive of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and abilities. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in January 2023.
Those auditioning for Rachel or Nicki, or background vocalist, please come prepared to sing 16-32 bars from a song that shows off your vocal talent, with sheet musical in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided.
THE BODYGUARD needs strong dancers! Dancers are not required to sing. If you are interested in being a featured dancer in the ensemble, you will be lead through a dance audition by the show’s choreographers, Chris Watson & Rick Barber.
All male roles are non-singing and those auditioning for male roles will not be required to sing but will read multiple passages from the script and may be asked to stick around to dance.
Production dates are March 3rd- March 19th. At auditions, you will be asked to provide a list of all known conflicts. No conflicts are allowed during the production dates.
Please note that the entire cast is required to have received the Covid-19 vaccine and will be required to show proof of vaccination if cast.

Frank Farmer- A former C.I.A. agent, physically fit, lithe and athletic; sharp witted and instinctive; handsome and charismatic. He radiates a silent strength, an American alpha man type. Frank sings one song in a karaoke style. He need not be a major singer, just have the confidence to sing in front of a theatre audience.

Nicki Marron- Rachel’s older sister, a very talented singer who has taken a back seat to her sister’s rising star. Quiet type. Must be a very strong singer. Nicki must have a very soulful, gospel-tinged voice. She sings ballads in the show and so should have a warm resonance, excellent pitch, and an ability to riff.
