Footlite Musicals announces open auditions for Crazy For You, the Young Artists Production for 2021 – 2022 season. Footlite will continue to adhere to all mandates and updates from the CDC and our own state government regarding the status of COVID – 19. Each audition, rehearsal and performance will follow strict protocols as we do our part to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The staff is seeking an ethnically diverse cast between the ages of 13 to 18.   Auditions will be by appointment only in an effort to keep all auditioners, staff and volunteers safe and socially distanced. Auditions will take place on Monday May 24^th and Wednesday May 26^th at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday May 29^th at 10:00 a.m., with Wednesday June 1st at 6:30 p.m. as an alternate/callback date. All auditions will take place at the Hedback Community Theater,1847 North Alabama Street.

To make an audition appointment, please call Producer Susan Bott 317-442-5432 and leave your name, phone number and day you would like to audition. We will then get back to you with your assigned audition time. If you have a conflict with the audition date and/or times, please contact the number above to make alternative arrangements.

Please come to the audition prepared with no more than a verse and chorus from a Broadway musical other than Crazy For You. An accompanist will be provided, please bring sheet music in the correct key. Auditioners should be prepared to read from the script and bring clothes/shoes for a dance/movement audition, including tap shoes.

Rehearsals begin the 2^nd week of June and will be in the evening during the week (Monday-Thursday 6:30-9:30) with some Saturdays and Sundays. Production dates are August 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, &15.

About Crazy For You: Bobby Child, son of a New York banking family (and also a talented song-and-dance man), is sent by his mother to foreclose the Gaiety Theater in Deadrock, Nevada. Once there, however, he falls in love with the daughter of the theater’s owner and becomes involved in a scheme to save the day by putting on a magnificent show.
