Footlite Musicals is excited to announce auditions for A FOOTLITE FAMILY HOLIDAY, as part of the 2023-2024 season.

The creative staff, led by directors Rick and Chris Barber, is seeking a racially, ethnically, and physically diverse cast of actors of any gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical ability. We are seeking actors of all ages, including children 8 years of age and up. All those auditioning will go through the same audition process.

A FOOTLITE FAMILY HOLIDAY is a story put forth in song and dance by a cast of 28-32 performers. Traditional and new holiday favorites made popular by Meghan Trainor, Tasha Layton, Pentatonix, Idina Menzel, Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, and Josh Groban, truly bring a well-diversified holiday song list to the Footlite Musicals stage. From high-stepping, high-energy “Rockette” style chorus line dancing to interpretative/modern style lyrical pieces, there is truly something for everyone in this holiday showcase.

We are also looking to cast 6 – 8 performers who can sing appropriate voicing for several classical music pieces, as well as several modern, a capella pieces that include close harmonies. You must be strong and proficient with SATB parts. Maybe it’s your own specialty act you want to bring to the stage, exciting juggling or gymnastics, or even dog tricks with your favorite four-legged friend. Auditions will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 24 and Monday, September 25, both at Footlite Musicals, located at 1847 N. Alabama Street, Indianapolis, IN. Please plan to attend just one of these audition dates.

Please prepare up to 32 measures of music to sing on the day of your audition. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music printed and prepared in the correct key. There will also be a short dance combination taught after everyone has sung; please be prepared to do a short movement taught by choreographers and directors, Rick and Chris Barber.

Rehearsals will begin the week of Monday, October 2, with locations either at Footlite Musicals or Central Christian Church, located at 701 N. Delaware Street, Indianapolis, IN. Production dates are November 17-19, November 23-26, and November 30-December 3. Please bring a list of all conflicts with you on your audition day. The entire cast is required to have received the COVID-19 vaccine and will be required to show proof of vaccination if cast.
